Beautiful Simplicity

November 21st, 2008 · 1 Comment

There are a ton of video games that have come out this pre-holiday season, including a number that are considered must-haves by gamers across the globe.

Moving through mid November, I thought few things could top my experience with Fallout 3, which had solidly taken hold of my ‘game of the year’ spot.   I couldn’t have been more wrong, though.

Left4Dead isn’t a complicated game.  It pits 4 people against a horde of undead, populated by both normal zombies and special ‘boss’ zombies.  Besides the co-op, it has a Vs. mode in which actual people fill the rolls of the boss zombies.

Playing this tonight, in both Vs. mode and regular co-op, has been the most fun I’ve had playing video games in months, easily.

Whether you get it on Steam or on the 360, I consider this game the most fun since Portal.

Act accordingly.

The Podge Cast Interview: Saving Heroes, One Comic Book at a Time

November 19th, 2008 · 9 Comments

This is a very special interview that Tony and Adam (and Phil) conducted with Geoffrey Gerber. Geoff is an Intellectual Property Attorney who specializes in Comic Books.

The information here doesn’t specifically lend itself to geekery, but it’s an amazing and interesting interview that does have ramifications in all of fiction and creators rights. We hope you enjoy listening to this discussion as much as we enjoyed recording it.

Geoff contributes to a blog at: Let us know what you think, and if you think we should try to get Geoff on the show again.

Roberto Suave’s Best Ever…Quantum of Solace

November 19th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Studio: Sony Pictures
Director: Marc Foster
Starring: Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Giancarlo Giannini

Plot: Taking place literally minutes after the events of Casino Royale (best 007 movie ever), Quantum of Solace leads James Bond (Daniel Craig) on a path of revenge against those who wronged him and those he cared about. Along the way, Bond discovers a secret organization that is bigger and deeper than he’d ever imagined. This is terrible for him, but great for the audience, as it opens up endless lines of cannon fodder henchmen for 007 to lay the smack down on.
