I bought a copy about 5 years ago too - not because that was the edition used back when I actually wanted to play (and it was good fun to play) but because I remembered the fluff, which outweighed the crunch so heavily. People will hate you for your bad crunch, but they'll love you for good fluff. Totally agreed.
