Happy (American) Independence Day

On July 2nd, 1776, the second continental congress voted to declare the independence of the American colonies from the kingdom of Great Britain. Two days later, the congress approved the declaration of independence. A few years after that, David, Joe, Luke, and Matt started the PodgeCast, an exercise in our liberties.

TPC is Nominated for a Parsec Award!

The Parsec Awards are dedicated to rewarding excellence in various aspects of Speculative Fiction Podcasting. Founded by Mur Lafferty, Michael R. Mennenga, and Tracy Hickman, the list of available categories includes Best Gaming Podcast, for which the PodgeCast has been nominated.

Podcast shows are nominated by fans, and finalists are chosen by a yearly steering committee. Those finalists are then voted on by an independent panel of judges from outside of podcasting. As part of the process, we had to submit a sample of our show during the eligible period (for us, that was episodes 1 through 39). If you’d like to hear more about the Parsecs, you can listen to their promo.

We hope you can join us at Dragon*Con when we claim our Best Podcast trophy (either from the Parsec people or the chump who wins when his back is turned—we could use the extra muscle). Wish us luck!

Podge-Mart is now open. We chose printfection.com as our online shirt creator. Printfection offers higher quality shirts at a minimal increase in price in comparison to Cafe Press. Currently all product includes a $1 commission. This money will first pay for our domain and hosting costs. All money beyond that will be put toward hosting PodgeCon. Details to come on this event later.

This is only the beginning of the store. More content will become available in the future, including Kingdom: the Next Generation, Phil, and Kicking Boredom in the Nuts shirts. Check in often.

It Has Begun

For Immediate Release: Dr. Luke Meyer, Adam Pinilla, and Matt Cushman, formerly of the podcast “Fear the Boot,” along with new host, Joe Selby, have launched a new endeavor, the PodgeCast! This new podcast expands classic themes and discussions into a broader frame of mind.

Movies, music, books, games, whatever is on our minds are all free game on the Podge. Discussions range from the release of 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons to the new Batman movie “The Dark Knight” and the death of its star, Heath Ledger. The fellas bring their sophomoric exuberance to adult topics for the inner geek in all of us.

Please stop by every Monday and join us in our exploration of life, times, and culture. It promises to be an exciting ride.
