The Podge Cast Interview: Saving Heroes, One Comic Book at a Time

November 19th, 2008 · David · 9 Comments

This is a very special interview that Tony and Adam (and Phil) conducted with Geoffrey Gerber. Geoff is an Intellectual Property Attorney who specializes in Comic Books.

The information here doesn’t specifically lend itself to geekery, but it’s an amazing and interesting interview that does have ramifications in all of fiction and creators rights. We hope you enjoy listening to this discussion as much as we enjoyed recording it.

Geoff contributes to a blog at: http://iplitigator.huschblackwell.com Let us know what you think, and if you think we should try to get Geoff on the show again.

    Hey!

This is a BSP podcast, not a TPC cast.

    What up?!

No, it was recorded by Tony and Adam with the intention of being released both for BSP and TPC. It includes the BSP front bumper because Adam has more important projects he’s working on and the few seconds this takes up doesn’t diminish the quality of the interview.

Actually, it’s hosted on the Far Point Media server, which has a dedicated line. It doesn’t count against our bandwidth, which I tanked with the video file.

    It’s worth the intro. ;)

I loved this episode. I know there was a lot of legalese but it was fascinating. If you can get more from him or do similar, topic expert interviews, I know I’d enjoy it. Thanks!

Yes, I definitely see us talking to Geoff in the future. He’s an awesome guy, and knows a lot of awesome people.

    Thanks!

I actually got to use this as a source for my intellectual Property final. There was a question on copyright law the Wizard of Oz, that I was able to refer to this interview on.
