For years I pronounced annihilation as AN-HILL-ATION. finally someone corrected me. Thanks for that. Ignorance is not bliss.

To me, a homebrew is a game where the underlying system lacks an unifying mechanic or has a subsystem tacked onto such a mechanic that is isolated. In the latter case, any psionic mechanic for D&D, ever.

lots of homebrew mechanics are very simple and may or may not have great influences in the rest of the game.

    for example penis size.

When this came up… my solution was for the player to roll 2d4 +(1 for each 4 rolled). Which puts the average at 5.6 which only a dick won’t round to 6

1 out 16 has a 10 which seems a pretty heroic population to me.

Now as far as D&D combat mechanics, nothing probably happens. But on social skill challenges between genders, oh yes this home brewed attribute poked its head out all the time.

If you don’t modify this for race you get gnomes nicknamed “Tripod”.

Let me know if you want the breast size mechanic.

    ;)

regarding swordsmen at a gun fight: There was a reason they were called the 3 Musketeers.

I concur, making a game for publication is a very different from making a homebrew. Homebrewers hack other systems, but game design creates original systems.
