Ug. Why wasn’t this uploaded an hour ago? I had to settle listening to the Brilliant Gameologists while doing the dishes instead…

Because Adam didn’t give Paul access to our FTP so he had to go though me because Adam was out of town.

NOW YOU CAN SEE BEHIND THE CURTAIN

He says he gave me access, but he’s a fucking liar.

Plus, our shit dropped at 1 AM central for a long time, didn’t it? This was up right at midnight. Maybe it missed the hourly itunes check or something?

Paul, shut your hole! Gumby doesn’t want your excuses! What he wants is a muthaf****n’ Delorean!

Once this podcast hits 88 miles per hour, you’re going to see some serious shit.

This might be a good time to swindle some Libyan nationalists out of some plutonium.

Too soon? If so I’ll travel forward in time when the joke is less risqué.

    HA! Nice!

Hey, so which one of you was breathing all heavily throughout the whole KTNG discussion at the end?

  • 9 Luke // Mar 8, 2011 at 2:03 pm

    That’s Adam.

  • 10 Paul // Mar 8, 2011 at 3:47 pm

Adam and Luke are both heavy breathers through this whole episode. Impossible to edit.

I had a cold this week. Yes, it was probably me.

I like the shout out to Dawn of Discovery, it’s like crack. Continuous games are like a continuous stream of crack into the bloodstream. I quit because as my continuous game got more complex and huge, my computer started crashing more and save games got corrupted more often.

My latest hotness is Mount and Blade. It’s a great game and the melee combat is some of the most fun I’ve ever experienced.

Because I know everyone is waiting for the lore…

I know it was only briefly mentioned and nobody really cares anyway, but there was a reference to D&D in “That 70′s Show”; however, it did not directly involve the main cast…

During episode 3.14 (Radio Daze), Eric storms in on Donna’s job at the local radio station, WFPP, as he is threatened by the super cool disc jockey, Jerry Thunder.

After Eric realizes that the DJ is no threat, Jerry invites Eric and Donna to join them in a game of D&D.

The tag of the show (the bit at the end that has little to do with the show and is generally cut in favor of advertisements) shows Jerry Thunder (Booger from Revenge of the Nerds) along with Howard Hessman (playing the station manager) and Alice Cooper (playing his own bad-ass self) in the circle playing D&D. They only show the circle perspective and we don’t actually see the game, but they allude to playing.

To quote Cooper: “Let’s get out there and slay that dragon!”

There- the closure on episode 130 that I know everyone couldn’t live without….

    Thanks for indulging me…

    Dig the show…

    -E

Late to the party, but – best portrayal of D&D in popular media, I think, is in Freaks and Geeks.
